Professionally

Dan has worked in financial services for more than 11 years. He began his career with the platform provider Ascentric before spending several years at Montgomery Charles, progressing from administrator to paraplanner and, ultimately, financial adviser.

Having worked across multiple areas of the profession, Dan has developed a broad understanding of the financial planning process and the challenges clients face at different stages of their journey.

His areas of expertise include investment planning and complex Inheritance Tax planning. He specialises in working with business owners and high net worth individuals, particularly those with Inheritance Tax needs.

Personally

Most of Dan’s time outside work is spent with his two young children, who keep him busy and ensure there’s never a dull moment.

When he does get a bit of spare time, you’ll usually find him watching sport, whether that’s football, rugby or Formula 1. He’s also a self-confessed petrolhead with a keen interest in engineering and all things automotive.

One day, he’d love to take on a project that’s been on his bucket list for years: turning a car into a race car.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me

At the park or an event with my wife, Emma, and children, Olivia and Sebastian.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Any Greek island.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

Nirvana – ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

The first album I bought was:

Green Day – American Idiot.

If I could be any fictional character , I would be:

Bo Duke from The Dukes of Hazzard.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport , I would win a medal in

Packing far too much stuff into the boot of a car, Tetris style.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Sundae.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

Enthusiasm, kindness and genuineness.

My pet peeve is:

Being late.

The best gift I’ve ever received is

A handmade bowl from my wife, which has the lyrics to our first dance song inscribed into it.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be

Mo Salah, Steven Gerrard and Jurgen Klopp.

The small things that make my day better are:

Seeing my family, reading my book and learning a little more about cars.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

Visiting Japan, building a race car and skydiving.

    Dan's dislikes:

  • Traffic
  • Laundry
  • Being late
  • Being too warm
  • Avocados and passionfruit.
